President Obama's Visit to India

Dear All Readers,
U.S. President Obama's visit has been hailed as a historical one by our un-ethical main stream media in India and all over the world. So much hype was created and in most of our national newspapers, more than half was filled with events relating to Obama's visit and thoughts on India-American relations. Similar was the case with T.V. news also. But I think many crucial issues were totally ignored. One such thing was the Bhopal gas tragedy and bringing the erring former Union Carbide officials to justice, particularly it's former chief Warren Anderson. No media men raised this issue. It was very clear from the outset of the tragedy that U.S. wanted to protect it's multi national. In the process the dead 30,000 Indians got no justice at all.
Similar is the issue of arms race between India and Pakistan. Instead of intervening in Pakistan civil society so that it's continued tilt towards terrorism is stoped, U.S. just want to protect it's interests. The U.S. is  only interested in preventing another terror attack against U.S. in it's territory by the extremist forces. The arms supplied to Pakistan is helping to create an arms race rather than helping to stop terrorism. Intervention in Pakistan civil society to end terrorism can only stop the monster of terror which the U.S. itself has created.
Spending millions of dollars to boost the image of it's President had been the U.S. policy for a long time. Often money is being given to willing media men, politicians and bureaucrats to go along with the U.S. line. So I think it won't be a speculation if we assume that many who hailed U.S President got some meterial benefits to keep away any contentious issue coming up during his visit. Often this way, citizens of India are being betrayed by the same people who claim to represent them. The U.S. looses all moral standing also when they resort to this money politics.
with regards,
jerry.
